Extending a lease. Sounds simple, right? But in recent years the burgeoning letting business has been affected by a whole series of changes in the law. What was once relatively routine has developed into something pretty specialised. So whether you’re a tenant or a landlord, you can look to us for the expert help and advice you need.

For example, tenants are entitled to a statutory lease extension of ninety years as long as certain conditions have been met. If you’re a tenant, we can advise you how best to make sure that they are. If you’re a landlord, we can help you avoid the difficulties that can sometimes slow things down.

When a lease extension is granted, a premium is payable. It’s arrived at by using a technical calculation. We’ll work closely with chartered surveyors to make sure that it’s fair in the circumstances.
